Someone at Marc Jacobs is SO MAD right now.

May 17, 2010

this picture doesn't have anything to do with the topic, I just like seeing positive images of two men being affectionate.

The NY Post buried this gem late last night on their website.

A female employee of the Marc Jacobs store on Mercer Street in SoHo received a package from California that contained cocaine — but she called the cops because she thought it was anthrax. The FBI was called to the scene, and after investigating the package, concluded it was a local matter and turned the case over to the NYPD. After running a test, cops determined the substance was cocaine, and took the employee in for questioning. “It appears to have been a huge mix-up,” says our source. “The girl has no idea why she was sent it. The cops are looking into whether it was intended for someone else in the building. But she was not happy with how she was treated by the police and is considering filing charges.” The employee was not charged. A rep for Marc Jacobs had no comment, while a manager at the store hung up.

There are so many things about this, first the use of the phrase “a huge mix-up” (hello, understatement!) and ending with the phrase “a manager at the store hung up.”  And someone where in the middle of those two is anthrax?  Really?  Were you watching some move marathon of W, United 93 and World Trade Center over the weekend?

But also, daaaaaaaamn, someone at Marc Jacobs is SO MAD that their delivery got foiled by an unsavvy salesclerk.  Work productivity is going to take a huge blow this week.

Um, so to speak.

Bwahahaaha! Well, maybe they’re mad, or maybe they’re too withdrawly to be mad just at this moment.

Oh honey, you do not come between a queen and his blow. That girl is going to be hunting for jobs on Craigslist very soon!

Was this a new employee? I thought the coke-is-not-anthrax portion of orientation was early in the day.

You’re right, Snarky. I think it’s just after the scratch ‘n sniff segment. You know, where they select their favorite adjectives to describe what Marc Jacobs means to them. Powerful. Clandestine. Ebullient.

This story keeps getting better and better each time I reread it. I wonder what will happen to the weekly blow shipments once the Post Office stops delivering on Saturdays.
